Investment Management Accounts
The investment management account (IMA) is a discretionary investment agency wherein the customer determines an investment strategy and establishes guidelines for the Bank to follow. The customer appoints the Bank as bookkeeping and investment agent to implement the investment strategy.
The IMA account offers a unique opportunity for our retail customers to take advantage of many of our Trust Department services, such as the ability to purchase mutual funds, which are normally load funds on a no-load basis. The bank can purchase many highly successful funds from families such as the Fidelity Group of Funds, Franklin Funds, Vanguard Funds, Federated Funds and many others. Some of these funds charge sales fees as high as 3% to 6%. The Trust Department is able to purchase these funds without a sales charge for the IMA Account.
The IMA account was developed to provide additional investment products for our customers. Not only can mutual funds be purchased for the IMA account, but stocks, corporate and tax free bonds and annuities may also be utilized.
This product is not FDIC insured, and is not a deposit, obligation of or guaranteed by and involves investment risk including possible loss of principal amount involved.
